A busy busy day finally comes to an end. Last lesson finished a little while ago. Five lessons and a trillion errands today. And that long rant about First Utility, the story of which has been slowly unfolding for the whole time I've been in this flat and it does not get better; we'll see what they come up with next. On my side of things, it'll probably be BBC R4 'You and Yours' next. I hate that sort of thing but it might have to be done. There's other problems, perhaps more important ones, in my life but that is such a pain, such an absurd one never going away and always impossibly, unfeasibly getting worse.

Apart from that.. bought a blender. There might be a lot of soup in my immediate future that will need it (but not tonight, no soup today).

Relatively quiet week-end. Went to Departure at the Elixir on Friday, where I met a few people I hadn't seen for a while, including [livejournal.com profile] digitalangel who unfortunately wasn't feeling very well.

Yesterday, after just a couple of lessons, it was Cavey Nik and Consuelo's Zombie BBQ. Had a good time there, there'll be photos at some point through the usual channels. Was planning on going to Reptile but once I found myself home I found it impossible to get up again and leave the house...

Today has been a quiet affair; one lesson away, some reading, some guitar practice. Now about to have dinner; just grilled German bratwurst from Borough Market and boiled cassava (yuca, as we know it back in Vz). Multicultural flavio? Whatever, it works.

Yes, Borough Market, hmm.... there lies my ruin, undoubtedly... that, and having discovered (through a pupil) an excellent Italian online deli with creepy name.

I really dislike chopping onions. I've tried many gadgets and many techniques, apart from swimming goggles (that's next) and nothing quite saves you from the tears.  But like so many things it is a little pain for a little gain. The aforementioned onions, together with peppers garlic, black beans, salt and pepper, a bit coriander and a bit of any herbs there were in the kitchen, are now slowly cooking away in a frying pan... for a friend coming for dinner tonight. Some cassava boiling in another pan, some arepas I made earlier that should go in the oven later, some plantain and some avocado, lettuce  and watercress salad. I tend to stick to the few things I  like how they turn out, this  refried black bean meal is one of them. Should be ok.

It looks like we'll have a room available from beginning of October. Rent is £292.50 plus council tax (at the moment around £32.50) and bills. The flat is on Kentish Town Road, a block and a half up from Quinn's, something like three blocks up from the Dev. There's fast wireless broadband noisy police sirens, roadworks and all the other things you expect in vibrant, modern London and the usual local amenities.. it's , half way between Camden Town and Kentish Town tube; a very convenient location.

Went to give [livejournal.com profile] nounou and Jasper a hand with moving stuff from scary neighbourhood in Hackney to dilapidated nice building off the Edgware Road. Then we went for beers at local old men's pub and lebanese sandwiches at midnight in Beirut Express. Interesting to see the street night life in that area, feels like a different country (Mahab sniggered when I said this).

Today, lots of lessons here and in Watford -which is not a bad thing, I badly need the money, except that for various reasons didn't sleep much or well. And, tonight, ST-D
