Interesting how BlueSky suddenly seems to bloom -so many people signing up, apparently most moving from X-Twitter, that apparently the servers couldn't cope at some point. I haven't deleted my twitter accounts yet but I only am keeping them for a while as placeholders for my handle, just in case. It is kind of a pity that one single megalomaniac narcissist could destroy what was a useful tool, in so little time.

In any case, there's also Mastodon although at the moment BlueSky seems to be gaining more traction. And there's Threads but that's potentially problematic as it is part of Meta/Facebook's Zuckerberg's empire of dirt.

I'm on all three, FWIW:

This is a long article -and I had already posted it in a couple of other places, but I feel it is an important discussion for those of us who live part of our lives in these spaces:

Getting ready for first guitar lesson in the day. First pupil is a lecturer on classic languages (latin and Ancient Greek). Then a couple of kids doing electric guitar (including a 9 year old girl doing Grade 5 Trinity Rock) and a veteran punk rock person in the evening. Can't say my working day is not varied and interesting #guitarlessons

I posted this first on Mastodon. Which, btw, is getting busier -more people seem to be moving over there from Twiter. I can't imagine why....

Gets a bit lonely in App.net sometimes. In some ways better than twitter although smaller. That has been said about Dreamwidth in relation to Livejournal, mind. In any case, in case I may tempt you:

In case anybody hasn't noticed, I'm on twitter as @flaviomatani. Interestingly, several people I know both here in LJ and on Twitter seem to have stopped following me. That is, those that had followed me to begin with. I wonder.... "Was it something I said..."

[ Edit ] Ah, there seems to be an unfollowing bug in Twitter, according to results of this Google search. That might explain one or two.

Funny thing, this social network thing. Like Twitter: You follow people you consider friends (or closer acquaintances, part of a group you feel part of, identify with, etc). They know you follow them but they don't follow back. It's a little bit like when you walk in a room full of people you know, there is an animated conversation which promptly dies as you walk in.

So finally doing a little clean-up of my Twitter flist, which in case you really hadn't realised yet, is at http://twitter.com/#!/flaviomatani ... little point in following people who you call friends (etc) if the communication is one way only. If what little I may have to say is of no importance to you, maybe I shouldn't spend time following what you may have to say...

Sorry about nerdy post .. Twitter seems to be a lil broken here... cannot post, from two different internet connections and from web or a client program. Can get other people's tweets though... any idea?
