Wow, that's totally insane! I've had run-ins with TFl and the council tax people in the past, and I really don't like the idea of them being able to freeze assets and send the bailiffs round.

Britain is well down the slippery slope as far as civil liberties go. Unless you are a Daily Mail reader you are considered a potential problem and need to be controlled. I'm learning a couple of foreign languages for when it's time to jump ship :-)
