Last night , as I was making my way back from Club Noir (where, uncharacteristically, I danced most of the night and had a lot of fun in spite of the abominably distorted saturated music system -somebody may have been trying to prove that it could go to 11), I was walking up the KTR opposite Quinn’s, more or less, when there’s a woman’s voice from the other side of the road:
“Excuse me..”
“Yes?:
“Have you got a cigarette?” a woman more or less in her thirties, nothing memorable about her. Well, I cannot see her very well, she’s on the other side of the road.
“Sorry, no”. And I turn around to continue my way..
“Any business, then...?” she shouts as I walk away up to the road.
“Pardon me?”
“Any business? SEX?”
“Er, no thanks.. good luck...”

Sounds like almost everywhere here. Sad and amusing at the same time.

Well, I do have to say that it is the first time in nearly six years living here that I've seen this. Maybe it is a sign of what's to come: people have been saying for years that, as Kings Cross gets cleaned, the 'trade' will move to Camden Town...

I watched it move up along York Way and across Agar Grove over the course of a few years. I guess it headed north again when it got to the canal.
