How to start the week stress free...

Put, amongst a few other items, a camera (my compact Canon 720is) on ebay. Get somebody to buy-it-now. The buyer is from Nigeria, with ebay account with zero feedback, registered in the US, created three days ago. Said buyer starts bombarding you with emails from them and, purportedly, from ‘service pay-pal’, to the effect that the ‘funds are on their way as soon as the goods are dispatched’. Yes, of course they are,aren’t they. The really fun bit is trying to contact eBay. They have no phone numbers listed anywhere. You scour the net and find an 0700 number which doesn’t get you anywhere and a ‘Power Seller’ hotline on which, upon hearing that I’m not one such ‘power-seller’, they just put the phone down on me. Have sent three ‘emails’ (well, the web page ticket form) to eBay without getting any reply.

Like I needed this hassle.

Hectic for everybody, it would seem. Even for our Nigerian scammer, I've had another email from 'service paypal' asking me to confirm dispatch of the item and then they'll confirm payment. Of course they will.....

I did that. But there is no feedback feedback, if you know what I mean, no way of knowing what's happened to that email (well, webpage form). Not even an automated email acknowledging receipt.

Oh how awful.

The best way to contact ebay is to email and give them 24 hours to respond. They are usually fairly swift - I recently had a problem with someone stealing my listing to sell their stuff and telling me to get lost when I asked them to remove it!

Ebay say they can't tell you the outcome but generally they remove the dodgy person.

Tenkew, I'm only seeing this now wen I had used the customer service forms. They actually came back to me but their response was a bit soggy, will try your link.
