.... and then I discover people can put in automatic music (which I hate) and hide the player controllers so you cannot turn it off, so you have to fumble to mute the whole computer...
I turn of myspaces default player by default. It's all these embedded ones with autoplay that are horrible. Some people have a few on a page that all play at once. Are these people on crack?
It's really shit when it happens at 3am and the main speakers are still plugged in.
I was always torn as to whether or not to even make mine auto... My one starts automatically because I'm usually proud of what I'm playing and don't care about anyone's opinion... I flaunt (sounds silly, I know) but it is always so refreshing to come across a page where you do not have to worry about anything blaring out so I'm still a bit torn really! =S
I'd prefer to have the choice of whether i can hear the music then or at a later moment. Or whenever. Not to have to fumble in desperation trying to silence the computer while the windows shake and my faltmates get woken up. I have taken to mute the computer before I do any browsing on myspace (this means I don't get to hear anybody's music, that 's how it ends up) but i sometimes forget.
The fact that you can easily add auto-music is one of the (many) things I really dislike about myspace and make me prefer LJ.
