.. it seems to be [livejournal.com profile] m0rbid_princess's birthday, happy birthday!

It is also the Day of the Innocents, commemorating the slaughter of the babies in Judea by Herod (I think it was). For some perverse reason, it has become in my part of the world the equivalent of April Fools' Day here: this is the day when you expect people to play pranks and silly jokes on you. There seems to be something about this (although in Mexico, not Venezuela), here.

Thanks :D

Following last year when you told me that, I read up about that festival since it seemed a perverse thing to play tricks during such a grim celebration but the reasoning behind it seemed to make sense, I remember.

Perhaps I am just a little perverse ;)

I may have mentioned this before, and you may know most of this already, but it's also the source material for one of my favourite carols.

Picture singing this in a crowded shopping centre full of screaming brats while their parents go "Oh, carols! iIsn't this lovely and festive!"

Further proof that people can't actually understand what the choir are singing... ;)
