Winter

Leaving the Dev last night, walking to the car, I realised -this was the first winter night. Not frosty yet, not yet freezing, of course, but a crisp clear fresh winter night . Breath in deep and enjoy it, before you get tired of all those long winter nights, the short days, the drizzle, the having to scrape the ice from the windscreen early in the morning. For now it was fresh and new and, at least for me, lovely.

Kicking leaves in the autumn rain, long winter nights, drizzle, clear crisp frosty days, the sound of snow compacting under your feet, the heavy silence of snowfall. I love these things.

I know what you mean - I walked up to the circus last night and was fine there but as I left to walk home you could really feel the col nip in the air!
