And i always thought mr Hawkings was a clever man. The impending doom of nuclear war or global warming are our own doing, why should we move to a new planet to do it again, who cares if our species becomes extinct we'll be dead it won't be a troublesome issue for us.
I guess you could, for the sake of argument, say that we owe it to our children 's children who didn't start the nuclear race or the greenhouse thing, and perhaps that we have some duty, as the only intelligent species we know of, to carry the candle and try and survive.
Of course, I'll be long dead before any of those things come to pass anyway...
