It's strange. It's lovely to think that PKD's android wouldn't have been stolen, but instead escaped, so it wasn't 'retired'.

I was thinking of that, and Wilbur Mercer, who doesn't appear in the movie but is central to the book, as the whole metaphysical thing, and its connection to what it is that makes us human (and what would make or not the androids/replicants not human).
