Ooh can you add me? I joined the group but the invites remained private confusingly.

Sent you an invite. Odd that you don't get the invites if you're in the group although these days FB restricts how many invites you can send from a group or event (unless you give them money, I think)

I could find the event, but couldn't see it as set to private. Think I gave up and left the group.
