Hallowe'en (or is it Halloween) week end was quite reasonable. Didn't make it to Vagabonds as I'd planned, ended up at Dead & Buried instead, and I did have a very good time there. Shame one cannot be in that many places at once.

kajia 's housewarming party; apart from the host I only knew a couple of people there but it was lots of fun. And before that I'd been to the Pendere'sl Oak for David's (who used to be froodthehoppy here) birthday drinks.

Week end was good, although I still seem to have some problems health-wise.
On Saturday I went tojupiter909's leaving drinks at the Alwynne, for which there are some photos here . The Alwynne was a bit too packed but it was good to see friends, including untermensch, silkyfish and dj_gassmann . Particularly good to catch up with brokenbeany.
Then on to Andrea's birthday at the Big Red. Again, some pictures here . Didn't stay that very long but enjoyed seeing her and friends.
Sunday brought aboutbellajonez's birthday picnic in Hampstead Heath and, later, a couple of lessons.. also I hear there was something happening to do with some sort of ball game, but it sort of escaped me. Maybe it was a beat combo, M'Lord.

I had a very good time, even though I didn't go to any after-parties (still ended up staying up all night talking to my re-discovered friend in Venezuela, on the magic box).

For now, I put some pics of Thursday evening in this facebook album; mostly a few people at the Elsinore and some I took on Friday daytime, mostly for the benefit of people back in Vz who asked me about the town and the fest.

A surprisingly good day, especially for a Monday.
Five good, satisfying and interesting lessons (it's not everyday I can say that). Finding a young pupil has seen one of my other Monday pupils in concert and liked it (she lit up when she heard my other pupil's band name). This is good in oblique and obscure ways, but good. Other things have been good too, in different ways.. I put up some pics from the Alternative Bring and Buy Sale in this Facebook album. It was a very good gathering and the pictures at times do seem to reflect that, so I'm pleased.
Life may be short, we may be flawed and the universe may be careering towards its entropic dissolution but it doesn't mean that any of it is pointless. Rather rage against the dying of the light.

It's Friday and I didn't have to get up at 6:00 am. In fact, got up at 9:00, a much more civilised time. Practically free today, also, which is good, I have a lot of stuff to do * . Busybusy this evening, there are quite a few things happening. At the end of it all, may call at Blacklist (or is it Departure? I can never remember which one is first) and possibly even Inferno for a little while. Before that, I might even have time to sort out the pictures from the Eden House gig the other night. It would seem to me like the new lens (a Tamron 17-50) has a far less crisp focus than the old Sigma had. But then I may have been drinking that night...
And it's a Happy Birthday topitufina, untermensch and the_devilsbitch!! Hope all your birthdayses are fantastic!!
