On Saturday I received a bill for extra service charges from the Housing Association that owns the rest of my flat. On top of the £140 or so I pay every month, they want £3744 and pence. Right now, if you please.

Three thousand, seven hundred and forty-four pounds and pence.

Been through this before, in March. After enormous effort, grief, anxiety and many phone calls, emails, putting the whole thing out on Twitter, they withdrew the charges. But now they seem to be reinstating them. Pay now or else. Oh, we'll be good and give you 30 days. Extra good and give you a few months but the lot has to be paid before March.

The situation is complicated because the bulk of the charge originates in the managing company that handles the building for the freeholder, Blocsphere. They bill A2Dominion and these just pass the bill on to me uncontested and with their own addition.

I don't have the energy or the mental strength to fight these battles. I know I have to do it anyway but it hasn't even begun and it is taking it out of me.

My post on FB about this and the various responses, some helpful, some pointing at things that I knew or tried already before, etc:
