The week-end thus far: excellent concert by Fabio Zanon on Friday, where he played, amongst other things, Benjamin Britten's 'Nocturnal' Op 70 which is one of the pieces (perhaps _the_ piece) that really inspired me to study guitar all those years ago. A few good and productive lessons in between and, last night, concert by New Model Army across the road at The Forum. Some criticised it after, thought it was weak -I thought it was great. Loved the ending encore of 'Green and Grey', by some way my favourite amongst their songs.

I've also put up one bit of the video that [livejournal.com profile] augeas took of one of my summer recitals (thanks again!), the first movement of Leo Brouwer's 'Decamerón Negro', 'The Harp of the Warrior'. A few inevitable warts both in recording (unavoidable ambient noise, etc) and in performance but I'm not too unhappy about that. The video is on Vimeo at the location of this link.

Was planning on going to Invocation but, alas, going home, having something to eat, the Northern Line tube not running and a train delayed by 25 min meant that I would have arrived some time after 1:30 so I felt it wasn't going to be worth the while. Oh well, there's always next time -one hopes..

Today, just a few lessons away.. and a visitation (online) from a previous life -a good one, though, full of lovely memories. And, winter is coming. It's getting colder!
