This was an interesting week. For starters, I played a concert on Thursday, at the Rustique Café in Tufnell Park. This doesn't happen often, not because I don't want to or feel I can't play in public (or, as somebody said to me, "I thought you were only a music teacher, didn't play") but because I'm rubbish at 'selling the product', as it were. It went very well -surprisingly, given the usual results from putting up a facebook event: a dozen people say they're coming, a hundred or more tell you why they cannot make it. And somebody I call a friend and normally sort of look up to tells me that he'd rather be in the pub and doesn't feel like coming to see my performance. Never mind, we did have about thirty-something people, which doesn't sound like much but did fill the place and made me feel it was worth the while. And we had djpsyche and a few other lovely friends in attendance.

I played in the garden, which of course didn't work so well in terms of acoustics but did in terms of atmosphere, giving a lovely setting. I need to get a few more gigs, while the iron is hot, as it were, but as I said before, being so rubbish at selling the product... after the recital I wandered off to Aces and Eights with lproven for pizza and pint and saw two very good acoustic rock acts there. Lovely evening, there should be more like that.

Other interesting events in the week for me included Beata's (didn't she use to have an LJ?) birthday drinks at Aces and Eights, also in Tufnell Park. This meant I was in that place three times this week. The most I've been to a pub since the glory (ahem) days of the Dev. There was also a BBQ under the rain yesterday at londonjon's. I hear there was a lot of noise about some rich woman having a baby but managed to avoid most of it.
