What lovely occasion yesterday at Dave and
irisetta s wedding. Lots of lovely people, beautiful setting in a green and pleasant cornet of Kent. Torrential rain at first, but lovely sunshine in the afternoon after the service. Took too many pics (over 800) & I must have been more tipsy than I thought at the time! Most of the ones I took that I've seen are askew, under- or overexposed, have the wrong colour balance or are even right out of focus! So it may take a day or two to choose a few to put up somewhere.
The bus journey back was.. interesting. In a dark and stormy night, in a bus full of loud drunk people, in the middle of nowhere in the middle of the night. And playing Bizet and Handel. The driver had just one music CD, a compilation, I think, of last nights of the Proms, which he played non-stop on the atrocious on board stereo. Yep, Land of Hope and Glory in the middle of all that shouting. And Jerusalem. And Tchaikovski's 1812 overture, cannons and everything (as far as one could make out in the terrible sound system). I can imagine more surreal because I've lived it, but not ever in my time in Britain. Strange.
