I seem to have fallen in a state of hibernation. Find it difficult to summon up energy to do the things I have to do, including guitar practice. I was doing so well a couple of weeks ago, making progress on various things I want to play. Now it all seems to be regressing. Please make this winter thing go away...
Spent a lot of the evening yesterday partly watching (at long last) 'Beowulf' and, when I started to think 'hey, i don't remember that in the book', also reading bits of a version of the poem pulled from the net. One little thing that I found distracting was that the hero spoke in an unfeasible Cockney accent... "Oi will kiell yer monsta!". . I also found some snippets of Seamus Heaney reading the poem. When he's reading it you can see the hero in your mind's eye and it is a hero. If you close your eyes watching the movie you hear one of the Krays, guv. Or rather a cartoon version of one of them.
Apart from that, not much to report. Briefly attended a couple of birthday parties on Friday, took some pictures. Bit cold outside (0ª as I was coming in a minute ago), so I'm largely keeping myself in my warm, tiny flat -I still like it, although the process of flaviofication is beginning to take hold.
