... apart from the main celebration that you already know, there seems to have happened quite a bit, according to the BBC 'On this day' page
weird thing is, doesn't the news there look remarkably like the news today? Live Aid, unrest in Iraq, problems in Yugoslavia, Northern Ireland, Middle East.... Not sure whether i find this slightly depressing or not -we all tend to think the world is getting worse and the sky is about to fall on our heads, but it would seem it always was worse and the sky was always about to fall on our heads....
