public housing..

Right. [livejournal.com profile] lovelybug's birthday and mine both fall on July 14th. She wants a joint celebration, which I would also like. She's thinking of a pub drinks before Reptile and has put an event in FB accordingly but we haven't decided on a pub yet.. that is, a pub that is central, easily accessible, won't charge and won't be rammed packed on a Saturday in July? It does sound like fairy gold or something.

Have any of you any recommendations about a possible suitable pub? Pretty please?:)

I'm still considering whether still to go with the traditional flavbirthdaydinner in a slightly reduced manner on the Friday before (ooh, Friday the 13th), as I already have had quite a few declines for the joint event from people I would love to see. Apart from [livejournal.com profile] djpsyche who has expressed already her joy at not going to Bin Tang:P (although I'd still love to see her at either:)

I have a soft spot for the Harp:

It's quite a small pub and it's near Trafalgar Square but a little bit off the beaten track. They do an excellent selection of real ales and cider as well as the usual wines, spirits etc.

That's me... say wot I think... :)
Lots of pubs in the City will be virtually deserted on a Saturday night. There's the Gable, between Moorgate and Bank, or the Penderel's Oak in Holborn. City would be convenient to the Minories, too.
I was going to be away that weekend but now I'm not, so will happily participate in Flavbirthdayness!
