I was wondering if it would have a beneficial or non beneficial effect on global warming (i.e. ashes versus aircraft pollution break)...?

There was something in the paper about it not making that much difference either way. Minimally on the side of + because of less air pollution but the numbers (big as they may seem) apparently are not significant.

I'm still waiting for the sirens to announce that Godzilla has been seen near the Thames Barrier :P
