b*x*t

This is not a good day. The forces of darkness are taking back control. Farage is happy. Trump is happy. Putin is probably mad with joy. The French National Front are asking for a 'Frexit'. The pound is taking a battering and many companies in certain sectors will be looking to move to Paris or Frankfurt. Come November we could have a demagogue like Boris Johnson as Prime Minister.

I've been here nearly 30 years. At this point in life it would be extremely difficult to uproot myself and go somewhere else and here is my life, my friends; I love how this island functions, at least most of the time. But the future is looking very uncertain indeed at the moment and I may need to consider what options I have. It is likely that the worst predictions regarding Brexit won't come to pass but it won't be good, nonetheless. Winter is coming.

Aye.

Brexit

I am just numb from the shock! I am also concerned how close it was and that the is still a significant minority that wanted to remain. Must we stand idly by and watch everything move further to the Right and further towards national xenophobia. I really hate the fact that as a democracy the idiotic majority seem to have silenced the intelligent. We all will now live to regret this day.

I have commented on this lightly, yesterday, and more seriously today.

The worst predictions of Brexit come nowhere close to the reality of a prolonged recession under a toxic government.

And it all seems to be starting to happen. I didn't see the unravelling of the Labour party coming. Or the abuse that some people are getting for looking or sounding foreign -including someone in London who was told to 'go back to wherever she came from'. She's Mexican, nothing to do with Europe but that's the way those things work, isn't it.

In a world where this sort of thing happens even in this island, with BoJo as PM... but worse, with Trump and Putin controlling the world.... hm, I would consider passage to the Mars colonies, except for one detail...
