Torchwood

On BBCThree... this was a mistake, it is now 2:43 AM and still wide awake having just watched the first two episodes and now a sort of 'the making of'. I like it so far, I can allow myself to suspend disbelief... well, apart from the man-in-a-suit monster. I'll be watching more of it at some point. Oh, no... me watching television, the horror.

What is this 'Torchwood' thing that everyone is posting about tonight?! It seems to be something of a hit!

It is a science-fiction (or perhaps rather a Sci-Fi, Asimov used to make a difference between the two) BBC show with a preposterous plot, a sort of Buffy the Alien Slayer but British rather than Merrikan and a bit raunchier. This doesn't make it sound very good, does it. It is, actually.

I dragged myself thought the rain to Muswell Hill just to watch it and wasn’t overly impressed. The first episode in particular was too slow. Maybe it will improve. But I’ll have to bother to buy a digibox to find out

I liked it, didn't feel it was slow. Of course there were holes in the plot but that's par for the course for that sort of thing.

I have a Freeview box I'm not using. Can't remember how much I paid for it, less than £30, so if you want it ... is £15 too much?

If it saves me from venturing to Argos, £15 sounds like a good deal. I'll let to know when I expect to be in the Dev again. I have your number :)
