The family have retired to play cards.. and have a second go at what is left of the Christmas dinner. I cannot eat any more, not for days.... I could drink some more, mind you, but i don't think that'll be a problem at all. Card games, on the other hand, I'm utterly and comprehensively allergic to. As I am to football. You could ask what the hell I'm doing here where everybody is football mad and everybody plays cards (noisedly, excitedly, you could think they were going to kill each other pronto but no, it is all quite ok, just noisy...)

Now, Italian TV is evil. Just evil. Game shows and sub-Barry Manilow music even on Xmas day. Plus Mazinger the Pope.
