Off in a little while to the Hampstead Alternative Picnic, the first one this year, in front of Kenwood House as usual. What do you say? It may rain? You say it like it's a terrible thing. Or very unusual in London... :D

* you might not be able to see the event as it is set to 'private'. If you want I can send you an invite.
That was rather a good week-end, although I had too many things invited to and that I actually wanted to go on Saturday.

Thursdays was the [livejournal.com profile] londongothsluts meeting at some hipster pub in Shoreditch/Hoxton. I wasn't enormously impressed with the pub but the company was good.. except that at some point the being the one single person in the company of two couples got to me a little bit.

Friday... oh, good grief, what did I do on Friday? I can't remember. Probably nothing, as the week-end was going to be busy. Saturday morning: one of my lessons was with adult pupil who'd just done a Grade 8 and was convinced he'd failed. His results and certificate arrived that morning and far from failing he achieved a very good pass. I chose two of the events I wanted to go to mostly on grounds of accessibility as all people involved in all three parties are lovely people I like. Went to [livejournal.com profile] seph_hazard's birthday picnic in Southward Park, then to Bennie Hero and Zane's sort of farewell picnic (they're setting out this week for the TransSiberian Express destination Ulan Batur! As you do..) in Walthamstow/Leytonstone, which was a lot of fun.

Sunday brought about the combined [livejournal.com profile] bibliogoth/Gothic Valley Women's Institute picnic in Kenwood House, which was a blast. There'll be pictures.

Today... well, today was a Monday.
First picnic of the year last Saturday was a resounding success. Quite a few people, lots of fun and catching up with some peeps I hadn't seen for a long, long time. Thanks again [profile] londonjon for organising this!

It was a week-end of quite a few things happening. On Friday I went to both Inferno and Dead & Buried * ; danced a lot at both (almost non-stop at Inferno for perhaps two hours). Also ran into a few peeps there, notably [personal profile] morbidfrog and Nadia (who used to be on LJ and is probably in my list but whose LJ handle I cannot remember). Then I went to Dead and Buried, mainly to say happy birthday to [personal profile] djpsyche (which I probably forgot to do...oops) and stayed there until some time between 2:30 and 3:00. Saturday brought the Hampstead Alternative Picnic * and then a bout of Big Red. People wanted to drag me to Slimelight but I resisted, as I had a couple of lessons early on Sunday (and also I felt I kind of had done my allocation of clubbing for the week-end, all in one go the previous day). Sunday brought those lessons and the Alternative Bring and Buy Sale at the Dome, courtesy of the indefatigable [profile] xsjdx. All this was good and there could have been more as they were decamping to Aces and Eights after -but I had to get ready for first day of school today. Yes, at this age. A good week-end, all in all, catching up with some lovely people, a few of which I hardly ever see.

The first Hampstead Alternative Picnic of the Year took place last Saturday, it was a lot of fun, a lovely event even though the weather was threatening on the day -and it did rain a little bit towards the end.

My pictures of it, here:

Off to v4 of the Hampstead Alternative Picnic in a bit. You're welcome to come along, in front of Kenwood House in Hampstead Heath.
Had forgotten to post here a link I'd put in my livejournal to some pics I took at the fab Alternative Picnic in Hampstead Heath last Saturday. They are in this facebook album -same pics in my Flickr photostream.

Oof, long day. And it isn't over yet, I have one more lesson to do, expecting pupil (mature lady who is a physicist -I get interesting pupils) any moment now.

At least I only have to do the 5:30 am start only once a week... the thing is, in reality I need more work, not less.. some playing work would be good, too.

The Hampstead Alternative Picnic on Saturday was fab. And it was almost like a little festival, there were over 100 peeps, probably a whole lot more as people kept arriving and leaving, as you do in that sort of setting. Some pics here:

.. but I will be attending one in Hampstead Heath tomorrow, celebrating the End of the World (allegedly, or the Rapture, or something) tomorrow, in the first (and maybe the last, if those Christians are right?) of the summer alternative picnics, organised by [profile] londonjon. Come join us if you can.

And if you end up raptured and taken away by the lord jesus, fret not, these guys will take care of your pet:

Picnic season arrived early this year, it would seem. Yesterday in Clissold Park for [livejournal.com profile] _abby_ 's and [livejournal.com profile] gothique1 's birthdays (well, amongst others; it was a quadruple birthday celebration). Today to Hampstead Heath for Consuelo's Easter Goth picnic. There'll be pictures, at least of those who don't get upset at seeing themselves photographed (there were a couple of those yesterday).
A few pictures of [livejournal.com profile] blackberryqueen 's Birthday Picnic in Hampstead Heath, in this Facebook album. It was an enjoyable  afternoon full of fun in the sun   with lovely people, many of whom I seldom see these days, which is more the shame.

Antidote was fun, it was good to see some peeps I hadn't seen for quite a while now. I am not sure I will be coming back often though. A very minor thing, but one that troubles me a bit. It may even be a matter of perception on my part, but still. It still was very good and I do recommend the night.

The picnic in Hampstead was very good, it was perfect weather, [livejournal.com profile] nearly_everyone was there. Lots of fun; pics of both events will follow.

Tomorrow will be a day of decisions for me. Some may be taken by other people in my stead, which doesn't make it easier.

In the meantime, still reading Cryptonomicon and beginning to get into it, although I still find it a bit tedious in most of the modern-day side of the story.

... that is more like a Sunday!

Picnic in Clissold Park later, which should be good. If I get some time I would like to go to [livejournal.com profile] ms_jinxme's house boat boat-house-warming also. Due to an amazing combination of circumstances in the last few weeks I am the most skint I've been in recent times but none of these activities require immediate outlay of funds, which is good.

Have to be back for a lesson here in the evening, though.

It's all movement and travelling here. [livejournal.com profile] kaerasta has just left on holiday, [livejournal.com profile] jamesknight has just arrived back from Oztralia, I'll be off to Venezuela in two weeks' time.

Had forgotten about the two short videos I took in Whitby, one of Screaming Banshee and another of a little bit of the footie. I'm putting them in the computer now, uploading them later if I have time.

It is a sunny day, and it's [livejournal.com profile] urbancannibal's birthday! Happy Birthday, dude!
