The gig by Fields of Nephilim last night at The Forum was excellent. They still are of course a sort of gothic Pink Floyd but I'm ok with that, I like that sort of thing. Intriguing that the venue wasn't remotely full -not empty, by any means, but not filled up to capacity. As has been the case with so many of those things, given my personal history, I was only dimly aware of them at the time, back there then, and didn't really followed their stuff until much later; only belatedly have I been catching up with what they've done.

After the gig, outside the venue, there was the assortment of friends, including some that were going to be going back in for the private party with the band. And the crazy lady* trying to persuade my friend to get her in so she could hand this flyer on some Jehova's Witness related website to FoN's front man. 'Rescue me' my friend whispered in my ear but there was no escape from all that intensity other than they going in and me disappearing pronto and hoping crazy lady doesn't realise I live right there across from the venue. Apart from that slightly uncomfortable episode, a very good evening of music and friends.

* Yes, I know that's not a word I should be using. She probably needs help, she probably isn't getting it. But this is a very difficult person to be around of, makes me (and not just me) spike up in anxiety and stress.

Didn't stay long at 'Dead & Buried' last night -when I checked the TFL site and saw that I could take one bus at 12:21 and be home at 1:00 am, or at any time after that change three night buses and take nigh on two hours to make it home .. so I opted for the former. Good night while I was there, though.

I liked 'Partly Faithful''s performance quite a lot (this is [profile] mister_ed's band, which I hadn't seen play thus far). I'll be checking them out more often.

Can't remember at all what I did Friday. Hm, not a good sign, I reckon. Saturday was spent on various errands and, in the evening, 'Vagabonds'. I had planned to go to the Slime after but sense prevailed, as I had a number of lessons scheduled for Sunday. Well, as it happens most of them were cancelled or re-scheduled. It was a very good night, at least for me. Strange to see tubes and streets filled with people dressed in black, black make-up on, etc. Only the white trainers gave them away:P

Sunday then was a bit quieter work-wise than I anticipated. In the evening it was the gig by Faith and the Muse at Dingwalls. And very good it was, if rather very late to come on stage. I liked them a lot. Might even buy their records:P. Took about 600 pictures at the gig, will have to sort them out and do any processing on Friday as the next three days will be quite busy. I think some of the pics might even be more or less good. The only mistake I made (apart from poking [livejournal.com profile] djpsyche in the eye when I was going to congratulate her on organising the concert) was to forget that I had to get up at 6:30 this morning.. have I mentioned how much I hate early mornings?

Still no solution to car parking problem, but at least the permit hasn't been revoked so I may have a breathing space while I find a solution. Knock on wood..

Off to Eddie’s gig with ‘Cybercyde’ at the Purple Turtle, then probably to V-Movie. No fancy dress for the latter other than going as Flavio. Odd that. I bought Jefferson Airplane’s ‘Crown of Creation’ when it came out, watched the Woodstock fest movie 14 times when it came out. But of course if I had kept samples of my attire of the time they would be ten sizes too small, or something. And they probably would be four thousand miles away, anyway.

Two good gigs attended in a week, without resorting (argh, sori..) to going to windy towns in the North Sea coast. I liked Abney Park (better than their records, even though the sound, in true Slimelight fashion, was terrible). Had a good time at the Slime gig but, having been there since 7:00 o'clock, ended up not making it to any of the other things happening last night, including a couple of birthdays and Vagabonds. In the end, I stayed at the Slime until 1:30 and came back home. I would like to say that this enabled me to have a full night's sleep and I am refreshed and awake now but -you know it, it is not true.

And the weather report may have got it wrong. It looks sunny and bright outside. For now.

Just back from Tempting Lilu's ([livejournal.com profile] magenta_luxx and [livejournal.com profile] kaerasta's band) gig at the Hope and Anchor. 'Twas very good, if a little short, the set.

On another tangent, was looking an address earlier and did it in an iPod Touch in Google Maps. Took me all of four seconds. Tried the same in my all-dancing Nokia N-95 (which also has Google Maps, with a different interface) and took me over ten minutes, a frustrating and microsoftian experience... the thing can do anything you want, you just have to figure out how to persuade it to....
